Dear Blog

Oh Dear Sweet Blog:

How I've missed you! I feel so sorry for you and all the neglect and abuse you have endured these past few weeks. Undeniably, I've been a bad parent. Not only have I completely ignored you, I have failed to even think about you.

While I have been out galavanting with family and friends, including sledding on cardboard boxes, you have been simply sitting here - unattended. Please do not misunderstand, however, all was not play. I have been working hard on my secret project (details coming eventually!), but that is no excuse to leave you high and dry.

So, dear faithful blog, please accept my deepest apologies. You did not deserve this neglect, and will not receive it again. After all, I do indeed have great plans for you. Thanks for your patience, oh wonderful child of mine.

Yours most sincerely,

Your faithful writer

Desert Skies

Recently, Gianna SanFilippo of Chic Celebrations sent over these fabulous images of Lauren and Nick's (her clients) engagement session shot by the wonderfully talented Jonas Peterson. And, within an instant, I fell in love with long blonde hair, tall grassy pastures, and desert skies. When images truly warm your heart and speak to you like these do, you know you're doing something right. So, I'll let them speak for themselves.

Amazing, right? Lauren and Nick, you are truly beautiful and your love for one another radiates from each and every one of these. I cannot fathom how amazing your wedding will be after engagement photos this stunning.

Winter Adventure

My deepest apologies for my absence this last week. I was, in fact, on a bit of a winter adventure through the streets of New York City. And, while it did not snow like I'd hoped (yes, a Floridian visiting the North in the winter inevitably wishes for snow), it was certainly an adventure.

I am lucky enough that I get to go quite frequently. So, visiting anything in particular is usually out of the question. We just go as we please and do as we please. We visited the famous Natural History Museum. Saw the beautiful Rockefeller Tree in all its glory. We played at Dave and Buster's. We got nutella-and-banana crepes - which I promptly spilled down the front of me. We explored Times Square. And, we enjoyed the coziness of a tiny Soho apartment. But most of all, we laughed, we explored, and we loved. New York City has never failed me. Ever.

So today, as I sit in La Guardia Airport on my way home, I will leave you with some of my favorite city-inspired boards and city-inspired photos celebrating love.

Favorite.

What have you and yours done to enjoy each other lately? Do you have a place like this that just makes you both feel alive?

Blog of the Week: Pearls Events

Blog of the Week: Pearls Events

There are so many things I want to say about the fabulous Aletha and her beautiful Pearls Events blog, but I truly just have no clue where to begin. The blog is clean and beautifully designed. The posts are thorough and well written. The images are hand-selected.

Aletha's blog is great for the newcomer just getting into weddings, for the photo junkie who just likes to get their fill, and for the wedding industry expert looking to stay up in the field. Aletha, keep up the amazing work - even in my Google Reader full of tons of inspiring blogs, yours always stays on the top. I know that I can never get enough.

Also, be sure to check out Aletha's sister site Inspiring Fresh Ideas. Because, well, it does just that.

What are some of your favorite blogs?

Props

Now that we've established my near obsession with themed photo sessions, let's talk about one more thing: props. Not props in the "give props to" kind of sense, but props as in the "take photos with" sense.

Hahah. I love these frisbee faces!

A yummy blanket to snuggle in? Yes please!

Given the fact that she has pretty much gotten engagement sessions down to an art (seriously, you should check them out!) it shouldn't surprise you that each and every one of these images is by the fabulously talented Cheyenne Schultz.

Major kudos Cheyenne, your work always, always makes me smile. Keep bringing on the props!

Do you have any great prop ideas? I'd love to see them.

Cookies

So, after last week's obsessing over adorable aprons, I was pretty excited to get these little gems. Major thanks to Run, Knit, Get Hitched! for sending them over and major kudos to DanaGrant Photography for capturing them.

Adorable, no?
